Rianne Downey is a rising star in the Glasgow music scene¹. She has been performing music her whole adult life, from early morning busking on the streets of Glasgow to lockdown streams that have reached fans all over the world. Her influences include Paolo Nutini and Fleetwood Mac.
Her debut single, “Fuel to the Flame”, was released in February. The song is about making your mark in life and realizing that when you’ve been at rock bottom, the only way is up². She has also performed the Scottish national anthem for Sky Sports.
Despite facing criticism about her height, Rianne has shown resilience and determination. She responded to an online troll who told her she was “too short” to make it as a singer by saying, “Five foot nuhin but sure as f*** can sing ye suhin”.
Rianne continues to grow her audience online and her music reflects her deep-reaching, up-tempo study on life, the ups, and downs, break-ups with others, and make-ups with herself. She has also had the opportunity to perform at various live events, including Manchester’s Neighbourhood Festival, TRNSMT, and The Isle Of Wight Festival, and has supported artists like Paolo Nutini and The Snuts.
