Bio

Life in Polaroid is the solo project of Toronto singer/songwriter Rory Dyck. Life in Polaroid’s sound mixes stylistic elements of contemporary pop acts like OneRepublic, Dua Lipa and Harry Styles with the songwriting aesthetic of artists like Crowded House and Paul Simon.

Life in Polaroid’s first single ‘Be There With You’ “glistens with positivity, bustling with bright sonics and warm cadences” says Wonderland Magazine.

As principal songwriter and guitarist in popular indie bands throughout the 2000s, Rory toured Canada and the US and was lucky enough to share the stage with Sheryl Crow, John Hiatt and celebrated Canadian bands like 54-50, Blue Rodeo, Tegan and Sarah, Tea Party and many others. Rory’s songs have been featured in US TV shows and ads and he was proud that one of his tunes became the warmup song for the Montreal Canadians hockey team for a season. Now.com exclaimed that Rory’s songs “deliver lush, sun-drenched harmonies which would not sound out of place on West Coast American radio, blasting from a thousand open-top corvette stereos.”
